Assessment/Identification

Minimum: 4.5 hours across 3 sessions

Session 1: This is a 2-hour session with a focus on your life story. I take a wholistic and narrative approach to assessment, listening to your life experiences and how these might relate to both the diagnostic criteria and the broader experiences often shared by neurodivergent individuals that are not necessarily captured by the criteria. I draw heavily from the stories people have shared with me in over 9 years providing assessment/identification/therapy services to Autistic clients. I am experienced in assessing internalised presentations of Autism. I will ask you to complete some questionnaires after session 1.

Session 2: This is a 1.5-2 hour session where I administer a cognitive assessment and might ask follow-up questions from Session 1. Although not always necessary, a cognitive assessment can be informative; as well as helping identify your strengths and areas where further accommodations might be beneficial for you, this session allows me to observe your approach to the activities completed.

Collateral information: On a case-by-case basis, I may ask for your consent to contact someone else who can provide information about you either through a phone call, email, or completion of a questionnaire. I understand this is not always possible.

Feedback Session: This is a 1-hour session where I will provide my diagnostic opinion and we will explore the meaning of the assessment outcome for you.

Comprehensive Report: I will write a comprehensive report outlining your history, the results of all measures administered, and recommendations for you.

*If you would like to use the assessment to apply for NDIS funding, for adults, I recommend an additional 1.5 hour appointment to complete a measure of current functional capacity. Some people decide to add this depending on what the assessment shows about them.

Fees: $1850*

*additional fees may apply for phone calls exceeding 30 minutes, or added sessions sometimes needed to finalise information gathering. Those aged <25 years may be eligible for Medicare rebates with an appropriate referral from a Paediatrician or Psychiatrist
